In case anyone forgot, Laurin Krings provided a not-so-subtle- reminder Friday morning that she is among the very best softball players in the nation.

The Loveland senior dominated Cherry Creek in the Indians’ first game of the season, striking out an unimaginable 19 of the 21 batters she faced while twirling a no-hitter. She brought out the lumber, too, knocking a two-run home run in the second inning as the Indians went on to win 4-0.

Coming off a run to the 5A semifinals at last year’s state tournament, Loveland’s beginning to the season went better than anyone could have planned. The Indians have three more games scheduled in their opening-season tournament.

Loveland also beat Regis 12-0 in four innings. Krings had nine strikeouts and hit two home runs. Both games were part of the Loveland Showcase.
