Residents Can Testify At Public Hearing On New Executive Order

ROCKVILLE, MD — Residents are invited to weigh in on a new executive order that would reinstate coronavirus restrictions on indoor dining, retail establishments, and gatherings.

County Executive Marc Elrich's order would temporarily suspend all indoor dining and limit capacity in retail establishments. Gatherings would also be affected depending on the type (more on that here).

The proposal must be approved by the County Council. If approved, the restrictions will go into effect on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Councilmembers will cast their votes at a meeting on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Residents who would like to call in to testify at Tuesday's public hearing need to preregister on the council's webpage at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/council/calendar.html.

The deadline to sign up to testify is Monday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.
