50-Degree Weather Thursday After Illinois Deep Freeze

The Chicago area will see some spring-like temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, before returning to winter on Friday.

After the last few weeks of bitter cold, the Chicago area can expect a warm up this week with temperatures in the 50s on Thursday. Unfortunately, the spring-like temperatures won't stick around long, but you will be able to enjoy some above average temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will see some areas of fog, and temperatures will be in the upper 40s. Thursday will be even warmer, with a high of 55 degrees, but rain is also in the forecast. When the cold returns on Thursday evening, the rain will turn to freezing rain and then eventually snow.

Friday will be the return of the colder temperatures and snow, according to the NWS. There is a chance for snow on both Friday and Saturday, and temperatures will be in the 20s on Friday and possibly the teens on Saturday.
