Trevor Lawrence doppelganger lures star QB into viral TikTok craze

One user on social media fooled everyone into thinking he was Clemson Tigers quarterback and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Trevor Lawrence in a viral TikTok challenge.

The user — who goes by the handle @lil.gluten and is a dead ringer for the flaxen-haired signal-caller — posted a “Famous (I’m the One)” TikTok challenge video on Sunday that has gone viral and has many still convinced he is actually Lawrence.

The nine-second clip is set to the challenge’s eponymous song by the artist Mozzy, and first shows a girl lip syncing in a men’s basketball jersey. The girl is playfully pushed out of the way by a tall gentleman with long, blonde locks (strongly reminiscent of Lawrence’s), wearing a nondescript women’s volleyball uniform complete with spandex shorts and croptop, knee-high socks and an orange headband similar to Clemson’s primary team color.

The gentleman, presumably @lil.gluten based on previous videos posted to the account, then takes over and starts lip syncing and dancing seductively.

The video already has over one million views on the popular social media platform, and was shared by Barstool’s University of South Carolina Twitter with the text, “WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK.”

The imposter was so spot on that Lawrence replied back via quote-tweet and acknowledged the striking similarities, but denied it was him in the video.

“Brooo people really think this is me I can’t even blame them😂😂,” he wrote. “it’s not though 🧐😂.”

Clemson Football’s official Twitter account was even duped by their quarterback’s doppelganger, and replied, “Not going to lie. Even we had to do a double-take on this one.”
