Blue Bell, cops close in on solving viral ice cream licking prank

This cold case is heating up.

Ice cream maker Blue Bell says it’s found the exact tub of ice cream that was licked — and then put back on the shelf — by a frozen-treat fiend in a now-viral video.

The dairy detectives pored over the social media post and narrowed their search to a Walmart in Lufkin, Texas, where they believe the crime against chew-manity went down.

“Based on security footage, the location and the inspection of the carton, we believe we may have recovered the half gallon that was tampered with,” Blue Bell said, according to local station KTV-TV.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have also removed all Tin Roof half gallons from that location.”

Local authorities, conducting their own investigation, confirmed a woman was caught on store surveillance video tonguing a half-gallon tub last Friday at about 11 p.m.

“Once her identity is verified, detectives will proceed with getting a warrant for her arrest on a charge of second-degree felony tampering with a consumer product,” the Lufkin Police Department said in a Wednesday night Facebook post.
