Olivia Rodrigo, all-around Gen Z superstar, took over the White House today. Well, sort of: Rodrigo met with President Joe Biden and Dr Anthony Fauci to promote the importance of getting the Covid-19 vaccine. The singer’s appearance comes at a time when vaccination rates across the US – especially in younger people – have stalled. And who better to get the word out to the youth than a chart-topping musician?
Given the high-profile nature of her appearance, Rodrigo wore a professional yet eye-catching pink, black, and white Chanel tweed skirt-suit (hello Cher Horowitz!). The vintage ensemble was a clever nod to the many First Ladies who have favoured Chanel in the White House, most notably Jacqueline Kennedy. Rodrigo accessorised hers with white Giuseppe Zanotti platforms, Justine Clenquet earrings, and a tiny black Amina Muaddi purse.
While in the White House, Rodrigo will be recording videos that will share some need-to-know facts about the vaccines, which will be shared on both her and the White House’s social pages (Rodrigo has more than 28 million followers alone across her own channels). Rodrigo just wants everyone to be “happy and healthy.”
