The suspects are 32-year-old Quincy Homere and 26-year-old Jamal Hill, both from Long Island. They have been charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said that the two suspects followed Chinx and a friend from a nightclub in Brooklyn to Queens before shooting him.

Chinx was shot and killed in May of 2015. The rapper was from Far Rockaway, and was a member of the Riot Squad crew along with Stack Bundles, another rising star who was killed in an eerily similar case in 2007.

Chinx grew close with French Montana and became affiliated with Montana's Coke Boys crew. He was on track to put out his debut album at the time he was killed, and Welcome to JFK was released in August, 2015.
