BIRMINGHAM, AL β€” The last college football games for in-state teams have concluded for the season, and holiday parties and events have come and gone. However, that does not mean the city's event calendar is empty. From live music to family events, this coming weekend has plenty of activities scheduled in and around Birmingham.

Here just some of the events happening in the Birmingham metro this weekend:

Friday, January 3

Monster Jam Triple Threat; BJCC Legacy Arena, Birmingham, 6 p.m.: This monster truck event takes place all weekend at the BJCC, and features Grave Digger, Monster Mutt, Zombie and Max-D, among other top monster truck competitors.

DJ Supreme; Saturn, Birmingham, 8 p.m.: House, Hip Hop, Top 40, Mash Ups, Radio are just some of the few genres Supreme perfects. Currently residing in Chicago, DJ Supreme holds a long history of performing at various nightlife and corporate establishments since 2000.

Birmingham-Southern Men's Basketball; Birmingham-Southern College' 8 p.m.: Come see the Panthers take on Centre College in a conference home game.

Saturday, January 4

Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show; Doubletree Hotel, 8 Perimeter Park S., 6-9 p.m.: At The Dinner Detective, you’ll tackle a challenging crime while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Shows are geared toward adults and carry a PG-13 rating. Some mild content, loud noises, and adult humor will be present. Children ages 15+ with adult supervision are permitted.

UAB Men's Basketball; Bartow Arena, Birmingham, 2 p.m.: The UAB Blazers take on Conference USA foe Old Dominion at Bartow Arena. Come cheer on the Blazers as they begin conference play.

Colt Ford; Iron City, Birmingham, 8 p.m.: Come see Georgia singer, songwriter, rapper, musician, performer and co-founder and co-owner of Average Joes Entertainment live at Iron City.

Sunday, January 5

Adoration of the Magi; Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, 2 p.m.: This Sunday, Master Docent Julia Stork will lead a discussion on Adoration of the Magi by Claude Vignon in the Italian galleries.

Brunch & Golf; Top Golf, Birmingham, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Enjoy a delicious brunch and take some swings with the golf club while enjoying family and friends at Birmingham's Top Golf in the Uptown District.

Happy Days! Painting with a Twist; Lee Branch Center, Hoover, 4-6 p.m.: Bring your favorite bottle of wine and relax while painting your masterpiece. Relax, paint, drink, have fun and leave with an awesome piece of artwork.
