Amtrak 2-Day Sale: Half-Off Travel From Virginia, DC In September
Want to plan a quick trip next month? You'll have to act quickly to get Amtrak tickets at half price.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — If summer has slipped away and you haven't gone on vacation, you'll be rewarded for waiting until next month. Amtrak has announced a two-day sale for half-off travel in September.
The sale, which includes travel to and from Virginia and DC stations, is valid for travel between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, 2019. If you're considering a day trip or weekend getaway in September, make a decision fast — you must buy tickets on Aug. 16 or 17 to get the 50 percent discount.
Sample fares include $57 on the Northeast Regional between DC's Union Station and Boston, and $29 between DC and Philadelphia. A one-way trip to Charleston, South Carolina would cost $55. See restrictions for the sale here.
