Vikings Make QB Change, Bench Joshua Dobbs in Favor of Nick Mullens

The Vikings are making a change under center ahead of their Week 15 matchup with the Bengals.

Minnesota will start Nick Mullens over Joshua Dobbs this weekend, coach Kevin O’Connell announced Tuesday.

Just a few days after being traded from the Cardinals to the Vikings, Dobbs replaced injured rookie starter Jaren Hall—who was filling in for an injured Kirk Cousins—in a Week 9 win over the Falcons

In five games (four starts), Dobbs threw for 895 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions before being benched for Mullens against the Raiders on Sunday.

Dobbs’s day in Las Vegas finished with just 63 passing yards on 23 attempts before being replaced by Mullens in a game the Vikings eventually won 3–0.

Mullens, 28, is on his fifth NFL team since going undrafted in 2017 out of Southern Mississippi. In his six years in the NFL, he has tallied 5,168 passing yards and 27 touchdowns to 23 interceptions.

Now, he’ll get the start Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
