Alabama backup LB suffers season-ending injury

Chris Allen posted six tackles as a freshman at Alabama this season.

Alabama has lost another one of its top outside linebackers to a serious injury.

Sophomore Chris Allen has a knee injury and is probably out for the season, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced Saturday.

The former four-star recruit was set to be a top backup after posting six tackles as a freshman last season.

Alabama had already lost star outside linebacker Terrell Lewis to a torn ACL over the summer.

Saban also confirmed Saturday that offensive lineman Matt Womack re-injured his foot this week and will likely be out four to six weeks.
