Sitting at the top of the pile of Trip Advisor reviewers who have dined in the area's restaurant list, The Grange has had over 500 reviews - 88 per cent of which are rated excellent.

hugely popular with residents and tourists alike the restaurant is housed within a 17th century converted farmhouse with a pleasingly stripped back aesthetic and Chef Proprietor John Kelly serving up delicious dishes made using locally sourced produce.

It's an obvious choice when visiting the coast to indulge in a fish tea but with so many excellent eateries available where do you choose?

Thankfully, Tailend St Andrews - which has become so popular it's opened a second restaurant in Dundee - makes the choice a little easier by mixing the comforting style of a traditional seaside chippy with the class and delivery of an award-winning restaurant.

All of the inscrutably sourced fish they serve is supplied by their own fish house in Arbroath, G&A Spink Fish Merchants and they offer a range of seafood dishes including an excellent fish tea.

They also do a five course seasonal menu for £45 per person on a Saturday night - dubbed the Chef's Table, it's well worth checking out.
