Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced he plans to hold a rally in Anchorage, Alaska, in support of former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin, who is running to replace the late Rep. Don Young, and Kelly Tshibaka, who is challenging GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Trump is also supporting Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy at the rally, which is scheduled for July 9. The primary election is scheduled for August 26.

The former president is targeting Murkowski, whom he previously called a "disloyal and very bad senator," because she voted to convict him in his second impeachment trial last year.

Murkowski's "vote to confirm Biden's Interior Secretary was a vote to kill... Alaska jobs," Trump wrote in his endorsement of Tshibaka last year.

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland supports President Joe Biden's fossil fuel regulations and halted drilling leases in Alaska.

"It's an Alaska senator's job to fight like hell for our energy resources, our energy independence and Alaskan workers and now our national security. But instead, she let Deb Haaland through," Tshibaka told "Just the News, Not Noise" in March.

Trump endorsed Palin in April, just days after the former Alaska governor announced her bid to replace Young.

Dunleavy received Trump's endorsement in December, on the condition that the governor does not endorse Murkowski for reelection.
