European Stocks Climb as Dip Buyers Return on China Optimism

European equities advanced as enticing valuations, optimism over Shanghai’s easing of lockdowns and solid US economic data fueled risk appetite.

The Stoxx Europe 600 rose 1.2% by the close in London. Technology stocks outperformed as peers in Hong Kong surged and the Nasdaq 100 rallied. Miners were the biggest gainers as copper continued its rebound. Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 underperformed as the pound rallied on the back of data showing UK unemployment is the lowest in decades.
