LIVERMORE, CA — For parents who would like an official set of their kids' fingerprints in case of emergency, Livermore police volunteers will be fingerprinting children at the Main Library on Wednesday during Story Time as part of the EZ Child ID program. The event will take place at the library between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., according to the Livermore Police Department.

Not only does the EZ Child ID program capture fingerprints, it also grabs important information about the child. All the data is then stored on a flash drive that is provided to parents, according to police. No information about the child is saved on the computer, and parents are the only people who retain the data, according to EZ Child.

The information retained on the flash drive can be provided to police by parents in case of an emergency.
