More than 40 hurt or killed in bloody week of NYC shootings

A bloody week of shootings in New York City had by 2 a.m. Saturday left behind at least 42 victims — including eight who died.

In all, there were at least 32 shootings this week before sunrise Saturday. By comparison, there were only 26 shootings in all of the same week last year.

On Friday alone, there were 12 shootings throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Out of Friday’s 20 total victims, one died.

Deshawn Reid, 28, was fatally shot in the torso around 4 p.m. in front of his home on Ocean Avenue, near Crooke Avenue, police said.

Too many of Friday’s other shootings had multiple victims.

Three women and one man were injured in a single shooting at 11:10 p.m. at a sidewalk block party outside the BLK Ink Gallery tattoo parlor at 55 Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem, a law enforcement source said.

The shots were fired from across the street by a single gunman; he remained at large and the motive was still being investigated, another law enforcement said.

Two of the women and the man were shot in the leg; it was unclear where the third woman was shot; all had been outside at the time.

“This is something we’re seeing — the number of shooting victims outpacing the number of victims,” a law enforcement source said of the summer’s spate of multiple-victim shootings.

“A factor is crowds,” the source said.
