It’s not the plot of his latest movie ? George Clooney says his family faces real issues as the result of his wife Amal’s court case against ISIS.

The actor stressed the importance of keeping their children safe as Amal, an international human-rights lawyer, takes on the Islamic State.

“We have plenty of issues. Real, proper security issues that we have to deal with on a fairly daily basis,” Clooney said on The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Awards Chatter” podcast.

“We don’t really want our kids to be targets, so we have to pay attention to that,” he explained. “But, you know, we also live our lives. We don’t hide in corners.”

Amal Clooney last month called for the United Nations to “punish” extremists of the terror group for sexual violence including rape.

George, 58, also spoke during the recent interview about how fame limits what he and his family can do publicly. He said attending a baseball game or walking in Central Park are no longer options.

That said, he’s not complaining, acknowledging he has a good life.

“I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful kids and I get to work on things I want to work on,” he told THR’s Scott Feinberg. “I have to say, most people don’t get to do that. I’m well aware of it. There are things you miss.”
