When a jury found Derek Chauvin guilty of all charges, history was made. It was the first time a white policeman was convicted of assaulting a black man in Minneapolis. Many thought it would never happen, and the scenes outside the court encapsulated that relief. Now the hope is for lasting change, with the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

What the footage tells us about Adam Toledo's shooting

That verdict came as another investigation began into the shooting of a 13-year-old Latino boy in Chicago. On Thursday, the world marked Earth Day with a summit of world leaders hosted by President Joe Biden. It was a rare (virtual) gathering with China's Xi Jingping, Russia's Vladimir Putin and Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro. We also heard Boris Johnson talk about how action requires more than green acts of "bunny hugging" - much to the humour of Greta Thunberg. But will the pledges make any difference?

Did you know that men are becoming increasingly less fertile? A study found that sperm counts in the West had dropped by nearly 60% in the past 40 years. According to that study, if sperm counts continue to decrease at this rate, they are set to reach zero by 2045.
