The Nashoba Regional softball team took advantage of some stellar pitching to reach the final of the Sheryl Jones Tournament, topping Shrewsbury, 3-0, in a semifinal at Hudson High School on Wednesday.
Hannah Reardon tossed a three-hitter, striking out 10 for the Wolves (4-2) in the shutout.
Reardon, Kylie Doherty and Jackie Matranga all drove in runs for Nashoba, which will face Hudson in the title game today at 1 p.m.
Oakmont 17, Lunenburg 5 Bella Allen (three hits) drove in three and Ava Cote (three hits) scored four times for the Spartans (2-2). Lauren Collazo had four hits, including a triple, and scored three runs in the victory.
Bella Petricca and Sarah Viveiros each notched a pair of hits for the Blue Knights (1-4).
Westboro 4, Leominster 3 Abby Barnaby had a pair of hits as the Blue Devils fell to 2-2.
Algonquin 37, Fitchburg 14 The Red Raiders notched 15 hits in the loss, led by Caitlin Kirrane, who had a home run and three RBI. Margo King went 3-for-4, including a triple, with three RBI and Mackenzie Roy was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and an RBI. Maggie Bourgeois went 3-for-3 with a triple in the loss.
North Middlesex 9, Marlboro 3 Emily Archambault had two RBI, while and Lexi DeSimone, Abigail Lenart and Caitlin O’Brien each notched a pair of hits as the Patriots (1-4) picked up their first win of the season.
Baseball
Oakmont 10, Lunenburg 1 Colby Gouldrup was 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored twice, while Caleb Allen had a double and a pair of RBI for the Spartans (4-0).
Westboro 11, Leominster 10 The loss drops the Blue Devils to 4-1.
Girls lacrosse
Leominster 18, Lunenburg 2 The Blue Devils improve to 4-1, while the Blue Knights drop to 1-4.
Autumn Tibbetts had a goal, five draw controls and two caused turnovers for Lunenburg, while Ava Wilson also scored.
