MSP Trooper Struck By Vehicle On Mackinac Bridge

Michigan State Police officials said the suspect intentionally hit the trooper and was arrested Thursday morning.

MICHIGAN β€” A man has been arrested after Michigan State Police said he intentionally struck an MSP trooper with his vehicle on the Mackinac Bridge Wednesday night.

According to Michigan State Police, a trooper a struck near the toll area on the Mackinac Bridge around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The man police said struck the trooper drove away from the scene and, according to MSP, the vehicle involved in the incident was later found unoccupied in Emmet County.

MSP said they and other law enforcement agencies began searching for the man near Resort Pike and Sheridan Road near Petoskey. MSP announced the man was arrested Thursday morning.

The trooper has non-life-threatening injuries, according to Paul Steeno of UpNorthLive.
