Colin Firth and his wife, Livia, split after 22 years of marriage

Colin Firth and his wife, Livia Firth (née Giuggioli), have split after 22 years of marriage.

“Colin and Livia Firth have separated. They maintain a close friendship and remain united in their love for their children,” the pair told Page Six in a statement on Friday. “They kindly ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

The breakup comes almost two years after Livia admitted she had a fling with a “childhood friend turned stalker” while the couple were broken up for a short time in 2016.

“A few years ago Colin and Livia privately made the decision to separate. During that time Livia briefly became involved with former friend [Marco] Brancaccia. The Firths have since reunited,” the couple said in a statement in March 2018. “Subsequently, Mr. Brancaccia carried out a frightening campaign of harassment over several months, much of which is documented. For obvious reasons, the Firths have never had any desire to make this matter public.”

Brancaccia, an Italian journalist, was investigated by Rome police after Livia claimed he sent naked photos of her to Colin. In July 2018, she dropped the stalking charges and agreed on a private settlement.

Colin, 59, and Livia, 50, wed in 1997 and share two sons: 18-year-old Luca and 16-year-old Matteo. Colin also has a 29-year-old son named Will from a previous relationship.
