FZN Senior Tommy DeAvilla recently signed with UMSL to play soccer for the Tritons. He becomes at least the 6th former Panther to play soccer for UMSL, joining Kyle Coleman (Class of 2017) on the current Triton roster. FZN Assistant Coach Krisie (Muesenfechter) Zumbehl (Class of 2005), Danny Muesenfechter (Class of 2006), Kelly Muesenfechter (Class of 2007) and Jack Filla (Class of 2013) are all FZN graduates who have played for UMSL. DeAvilla was a key to a revitalized Panther soccer program that saw the team win 18 games and advance to the District final. The Panthers had won just 2 games two years prior to last season. A strong defensive player, DeAvilla scored 11 goals with 13 assists last fall. For his efforts, DeAvilla was selected as a 1st team member of the GAC Central “All-Conference” team. It was his second consecutive season to receive such an honor. A player with a plethora of soccer experience, DeAvilla is also a member of the highly regarded Scott Gallagher “Elite” soccer club. An excellent student-athlete, who takes a full course load of AP classes, DeAvilla sports an impressive 3.978 GPA and is a 4-year member of the GAC “All-Academic” team.

UMSL (The University of Missouri – St. Louis) is a NCAA Division 2-member school that competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
