For months I’ve been filling my vision board with photos of Kelly getting fired and now, finally, it might be happening! CNN reports that after Kelly publicly admitted that she thinks blackface is, like, totally cool and her colleagues were understandably pissed, she might be leaving her NBC morning show.
Sources tell CNN that Kelly isn’t expected to host the program today and that she is “unlikely to return later.” Her show is reportedly ending but the finale date, and the possibility that she might stay with NBC in a different department, are still up in the air. Kelly has also fired her talent agent and hired an attorney, which might signal she’s going to fight legally over her contract (she’s reportedly in the second year of a three-year contract).
Kelly’s show has been awful from the beginning. Aside from the fact that she’s hosting it, she’s also had terrible interviews with stars like Jane Fonda, awful ratings, and reports that the work environment on the show is toxic. Her peers and fellow TV anchors have also admitted that the show is terrible.
Bye, bye Megyn Kelly. God, who ever said manifesting doesn’t work?
Update, 1:32 P.M.: People reports that Megyn Kelly Today is officially canceled at NBC, but she has not yet been fired by the network completely. Sources told People that NBC is contacting staff and reassigning people at the network.
Update, 1:46 P.M.: Page Six now reports that Megyn Kelly is officially out at NBC.
