ATLANTA — An aspiring Proud Boys member threatened the life of Georgia's incoming U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock through social media, according to federal prosecutors.

Eduard Florea, of New York, was arrested Tuesday and charged with weapons offenses when investigators found more than 1,000 rounds of rifle and shotgun ammunition and dozens of combat-style — including two hatchets and two swords — in his home.

Authorities said his Jan. 6, post on the extreme rightwing site Parler in the early-morning hours after Warnock was declared the victor of the Georgia U.S. Senate runoff added an obscenity for emphasis when he stated, “dead men can’t pass laws.”

But prosecutors said Florea had travelled there in December and joined the group in vandalizing a church.
