Céline Dion steps out in ‘Titanic’ Heart of the Ocean necklace

Her heart will go on.

Céline Dion took a pause from her parade of couture at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday to slip into something more comfortable, stepping out in a gray blazer, tourist T-shirt and sporty miniskirt topped off with an instantly recognizable accessory: the blue Heart of the Ocean diamond necklace from “Titanic.”

The 51-year-old pop icon didn’t swim to the bottom of the Atlantic to retrieve the gem, however; her costume version of the priceless piece was actually sent down Vetements’ spring 2020 catwalk just last week, along with her oversized jacket and “I Heart Paris Hilton” tee.

It’s not the first time Dion has nodded to the beloved 1997 blockbuster with her look. Back in 2016, she memorably modeled a “Titanic” sweatshirt, also designed by Vetements, that featured Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s characters from the movie.

And at the 1998 Oscars, the year “Titanic” swept the awards, Dion wore Asprey & Garrard’s real sapphire-and-diamond Heart of the Ocean necklace to perform the film’s theme song onstage. The bauble, which was modeled after the movie prop and showcased a whopping 171-carat center stone, sold at a charity auction for $1.4 million.

Though presumably far less expensive, Dion’s Vetements version looked equally priceless.
