Pete Davidson blames Kaia Gerber breakup on his personal struggles

Pete Davidson has confirmed his split from Kaia Gerber, and blamed their breakup on his personal struggles.

“She’s very young, and I’m f–king going through a lot and it was before I went to rehab,” the “Saturday Night Live” star told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview posted on YouTube on Monday.

Davidson — who recently spent time in an Arizona rehab facility — dated the model daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber for about four months from October 2019 to January 2020.

Page Six first reported their split.

“It’s just like, she should be having fun,” he said. “She shouldn’t have to worry about some dude that just has issues and s–t. She should be enjoying her work.”

Davidson added: “It just wasn’t the right place or the right time at all.”

Crawford and businessman Gerber were memorably snapped looking anxious outside their daughter’s NYC apartment in December while Davidson was inside.

But he said of the pair, “Her parents were really helpful and stuff, so they’re cool.”

During the interview with Charlamagne, the comic, who has a special about to be released on Netflix, acknowledged that he can be “a lot” in relationships.

“I cry a lot. I get into deep conversations. I care about your s–t,” he said. “I like to meet your family. I like to know who you are. And some families are like, ‘Who the f–k are you?’ So I’m a lot for certain people. It was just how I was raised.”

“I love love,” he said. “That’s how I grew up. Just my mom, my sister, I didn’t have a man around the house, so I was just like, ‘When am I going to find my Princess
Charming?’ That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

Meanwhile, he said he’s set on becoming a father. His own dad, Scott Davidson, died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

“I want to be there for something or do something that I didn’t have growing up. That’s my biggest thing,” said Davidson.

He also said he’s off the dating scene for now, “unless I meet the love of my life.”

He bizarrely slammed “SNL,” where he’s been a star since 2014.

“They think I’m f–king dumb. I’m literally painted out to be this big dumb idiot,” said Davidson. “I have a weird feeling in that building where I don’t know whose team they’re playing for really, if I’m the joke or I’m in on the joke.”

However, he said he was staying on for show boss Lorne Michaels, who’s a “father figure” to him, saying he’ll stay as long as he wants.
