ALEXANDRIA, VA—The battle of Alexandria's neighborhoods is back. The second annual Del Ray vs. Old Town Softball Battle will happen Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. at Four Mile Run Park, 3700 Commonwealth Avenue.

Teams are comprised off staff from Old Town and Del Ray restaurants. The Del Ray team claimed victory in last year's game. Spectators can cheer on their neighborhood while enjoying food trucks. Gates open at 6 p.m. A post-game party will be held at Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap.

Regardless of who earns the bragging rights in this friendly rivalry, the true winners are local causes. The event raises money for the Baroody Project, which helps Alexandria kids to join after-school athletic programs.

Ahead of the game, Chadwicks in Old Town and Pork Barrel BBQ in Del Ray squared off to sell the most beers mugs on May 14. The proceeds benefit ACT for Alexandria, which works to promote charitable giving in the city.
