‘Impaired’ school bus driver veers off road and crashes in Oregon

A school bus driver in Oregon was allegedly drunk on Wednesday when he veered off the road and crashed with 10 children on board, cops said.

Jonathan C. Gates, 20, was driving on a highway in the northwest section of the state at around 8 a.m. when he crashed into a ditch, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived to discover the bus in a ditch with Gates, an adult bus aide, and 10 children between the ages of 10 and 16 aboard.

Gates “appeared to be impaired” and he was arrested for driving under the influence, cops said.

Luckily, there were no injuries in the crash.

The bus driver was issued a citation and released.
