300 At Party With DJ; Host Violated Coronavirus Protocols: Cops

The host of a Riverhead party with 300 people and a DJ violated public health law and coronavirus protocols Friday, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — The host of a party in Riverhead with 300 guests and a DJ Friday night violated the public health law and coronavirus protocols, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, at 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a complaint about a large party on Middle Road. About 300 people were at the party, vehicles were blocking the roadway, and there was DJ at the gathering, police said.

The party was hosted by Julian B. Harris, 29, police said. Harris was issued a field appearance ticket and charged with violating the public health law for having a non-essential gathering, prohibited under current New York State executive order, police said.
