Birmingham broke in its new stadium Friday night. Despite it being the Patriots first home game in almost two seasons, new quarterback Jackson Dadich made himself feel right at home with 325 yards passing on 24 of 32 attempts and three touchdowns.

Dadich’s number one target was sophomore wide receiver Arlis Boardingham, who caught six passes for 147 yards including a 73-yard touchdown reception.

Sierra Canyon’s JD Sumlin ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the Trailblazers win over Westlake 26-7. Fellow junior DJ Harvey had 105 yards receiving and a touchdown, along with a dazzling 80-yard kick off return.

Canoga Park’s sophomore wide receiver Dominic Arango-Serna hauled in four passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the Hunters’ blowout win over Roosevelt 41-0.

Crespi quarterback Blake Adams was stellar in his home debut after transferring from Simi Valley. The junior threw three touchdowns. Wide receiver Miles Robinson caught two touchdowns in the Celts 37-3 win over Canyon High of Canyon Country.

Chaminade linebacker Bryce Mack may have had the best defensive performance Friday night, despite falling just short to Oaks Christian 13-7. Mack recorded 15 tackles and had an interception in the Eagles’ home opener.

In Grace Brethren’s 42-18 win over Aquinas, quarterback Mike Zele threw for 214 yards and a touchdown. Julien Stokes ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Henderson added 106 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

Moorpark’s Spencer Varner had 22 carries for 140 yards in the Musketeers’ 14-7 win over Burbank High on the road. Quarterback Blake Sturgill was 14 of 28 for 160 yards with a TD in the air and a rushing TD.

Burroughs of Burbank quarterback Nick Garcia scored six touchdowns in the Indian’s win over Hueneme High 59-18. Wide receiver Aiden Forrester scored three touchdowns, catching two and running for one to put together a 190-yard all-purpose-yard performance Thursday night.

Oak Park quarterback Gianni Smith passed for four touchdowns and 151 yards in the first half of the Eagles 34-0 win over Thousand Oaks.

West Ranch’s junior quarterback Walker Eget, brother of last year’s starting QB, Weston, threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns by completing 23 of 28 attempts in his first varsity start as the Wildcats beat Nordhoff 55-14.
