STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify three men sought for questioning in connection with the use of bogus currency at a movie theater on the South Shore.

The incident was reported on Feb. 3 inside the Regal Bricktown Charleston theater at 165 Bricktown Way, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Officers responding to a 911 call of petit larceny were told by an employee that three unidentified individuals entered the theater and used counterfeit money to pay for services. The individuals fled the location to parts unknown, the police spokeswoman said.

Police described the individuals as follows:

  1. male with a medium complexion and short brown hair who stands 5’10” and weighs about 180 pounds. He was seen wearing a multi colored jacket and gray sweatpants.
  2. male with a dark complexion, short wavy black hair who stands about 5’11” tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was seen wearing a black jacket.
  3. male with a light complexion who stands about 5’11” and weighs about 170 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a black jacket.

Photos of three men taken in the vicinity of the theater were posted on the 123rd Precinct Twitter feed.
