Trump campaign uses Post exposé to blast Bidens for ‘blatant selling of access’

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s re-election campaign on Wednesday accused Hunter Biden of “blatant selling of access” to his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, in the wake of a bombshell cache of documents about the family’s foreign dealings exposed by The Post.

“The way that this entire operation is set up to make money off of Joe Biden for decades has been ignored for far too long,” Trump 2020 senior adviser Jason Miller said during a call with reporters, labeling the influential family “Biden Inc” and calling for greater scrutiny of their business dealings.

A 2015 email obtained by The Post reveals that Hunter Biden introduced his father to Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, while Hunter served on its board and earned a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.

The following year, the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.

The correspondence, which flies in the face of the Democratic nominee’s claim that he has “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” is contained in a tranche of data recovered from a discarded laptop that reportedly belonged to Hunter Biden.

“I think that this is probably just the tip of the iceberg for the close look at the Biden family business,” Miller speculated on Wednesday.

“Obviously today we’re reading about Hunter Biden, and his blatant selling of access to his father for foreign companies when his father was Vice President of the United States,” he continued, before noting that both of the former veep’s brothers were also lobbyists.

“But let’s not forget that we have James Biden, lobbyist, Frank Biden, lobbyist, and I think there’s some real questions even where Joe Biden’s money comes from, how did Joe Biden go from being simply a senator for a number of years to now being a multimillionaire,” Miller said.

The Biden campaign has yet to respond to the damaging allegations, which are being investigated by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Former Florida attorney general and Trump impeachment lawyer Pam Bondi said Biden’s claims of ignorance were a “boldfaced lied.”

“If the New York Post story is true, we now know Joe Biden lied to the American people and he lied repeatedly to all of you,” she told reporters.

“Biden has claimed he has no knowledge of his son’s business schemes, and the quote was, ‘I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.’ If the New York Post story, we now know without any shadow of doubt this was a boldfaced lie,” she said.

The president’s re-election campaign also dropped a new commercial targeting the former veep’s son on Wednesday, asking, “The question isn’t why Hunter Biden used his name to get these gigs. The question is why Joe Biden let him do it.”
