The 8-foot "Pumpkin Halloween Ghoul" isn't just a yard decoration—he's a cultural icon.

Move over, giant skeletons and floating candles–a new favorite decoration is taking over social media this spooky season. Target's 8-foot talking jack-o'-lantern entity (?) named Lewis, priced at $180, has gained the devotion of millions of fans with his simple yet sassy catchphrase: "I am not a jack-o'-lantern. My name is Lewis!" The hashtag #mynameislewis has racked up 23.6 million views on TikTok in just a few weeks—and it's obvious he's the main character this Halloween.

Described on the Target website as a "Pumpkin Halloween Ghoul" (despite his insistence that he's not a jack-o'-lantern), Lewis has many disappointed that he's sold out in stores and online. However, you don't have to miss out on the fun: TikTok creator @rainbowesprimkle DIYed an adorable baby Lewis that's gained nearly 79,000 likes (and makes for a much more affordable option).

But Lewis is more than a yard decoration—he's quickly turned into a cultural icon. Fans have posted artwork dedicated to him, and @notajackolantern envisioned a beautiful love story between him and Home Depot's Skelly the Skeleton, complete with a ghostly wedding dress. Even Instacart deliverers are stopping to snap a photo of him.

The Smashing Pumpkins even got in on the trend, posting that "After 36 years, it's finally time to change the band's name to Lewis pumpkins." And in New York City, a crowd gathered outside to take photos of Lewis atop a townhouse, documented in a TikTok that now has 1.1 million likes and the fitting caption: "celebrity siting in nyc.' Brands like Coach, Cinnabon, and Ghostbusters voiced their support in the comments.

Lewis's semi-chaotic energy is quite the transition from the bright, put-together aesthetics of the last few months (Strawberry Girl Summer, Barbiecore, etc.), but that might be why he's exactly what you need for your fall decor. Plus, Skelly needed some competition (or a romantic spark?).

If you're unable to get your hands on your own Lewis, you can create your own oversized decor—just without the cheekiness. Go big with giant spiders that climb up the side of your home, and add some oversized spiderwebs. And a yard full of jack-o'-lanterns can make up for not having one giant talking one (maybe).

Lewis is part of Target's Hide & Eek! Collection. The line features lots of other Halloween-yard ideas, including this animated green-lit skeleton for $45 that welcomes visitors in a spooky voice for a haunted touch.
