Ohio bus drivers sent their high school seniors off once last time with a touching tribute during the coronavirus pandemic.
With schools closed due to COVID-19 and no way to wish students farewell in person, drivers at Loveland High School just outside of Cincinnati parked 22 buses in the form of the number “2020” to commemorate this year’s graduating class.
A photographer teacher at the school, Jim Barrett, capturing aerial footage of the formation, as a group of drivers waved goodbye to the almost 400 graduating seniors, Fox5 reported.
“The love for our students is unconditional and each one will always hold a special place in our hearts,” driver Michele Winter posted on the school district’s website.
“Every story, every hug, every laugh and every tear with them are memories and sometimes even lessons,” she added. To the kids of the past, the present and the future, this is for you!”
Some of the drivers had been shuffling the students to and from school since they were in kindergarten, driver Jennifer Bloom Bowman said.
“This is a huge accomplishment and anyway we can show them some love, we will do it,” she added. “So here’s to the Class of 2020.”
