Cole Popovich, who shared the offensive line coaching duties with Carmen Bricillo last season, will not be coaching with the Patriots this season, according to reports.

Popovich’s departure is related to the COVID-19 vaccine and NFL guidelines, per ESPN.

Popovich and Bricillo had essentially replaced the now retired Dante Scarnecchia last season as co-coaches of the offensive line. For the 2021 season, Bricillo is apparently going to perform the job alone.

Popovich had been with the club since 2015.

Personnel-wise, the Patriots are expected to field one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Jim McBride of the Boston Globe was the first to report news of Popovich’s departure.
