Agora Sets Opening Date For Tysons Location

TYSONS, VA — Dupont Circle's Mediterranean eatery Agora will open its first Northern Virginia outpost in Tysons on Tuesday, July 16. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Nouvelle Apartments at 7911 Westpark Drive.

The new location comes after the Dupont Circle opened nearly a decade ago. Named after the ancient Greek word for gathering place, Agora specializes in Turkish, Greek, Lebanese and other Mediterranean favorites. Dishes exclusive to the Tysons location include Kibbeh Naya (Lebanese steak tartare), Duck Pide (shredded duck confit flatbread drizzled with a fig balsamic reduction) and Barak (tortellini stuffed with Lebanese-inspired flavors in a yogurt and mint sauce).

Agora will open with dinner and late-night menus, while lunch and brunch will debut the week of July 29. The drink offerings range from the sweetened anise-flavored Raki and rose liqueur to a wine and beer list featuring Mediterranean and DC area vineyards and breweries.

The restaurant has a mezzanine level, a 12-seat chef’s bar overlooking the kitchen and charcoal grill. Diners will be surrounded with Turkish decor with designs and patterns inspired by native art and culture. All of the millwork is directly from Turkey.
