MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, MI - A body found in a river in the Upper Peninsula’s Menominee Township has been identified as a South Dakota woman who had been missing for nearly three weeks. Authorities in her home state say they’ve made an arrest on murder charges in connection to the case.

Authorities in Yankton County, South Dakota have identified the woman as Tammy LaFramboise, 46, according to WLUC.

She was last seen March 1 at her apartment, just west of Yankton, according to KTIV.

Her body was found Saturday in an undisclosed river in Menominee County. That site is about 640 miles from Yankton County, S.D.

Sheriff’s officials there say they have arrested Stephen Robert Falkenberg, 45, according to station KSFY. He was taken into custody in Sioux Falls Monday and charged with second-degree murder. He remains lodged in the Yankton County Jail.
