Nike's React tech may be most closely associated with the sneaker-of-the-year contending React Element 87 these days, but the cushy foam's running roots actually lie in another model, the Epic React Flyknit.

After debuting on the React Hyperdunk 2017 basketball sneaker, Nike brought React technology to running last year with the Epic React Flyknit, and now the model is back with a sequel. Fans of the OG runner will be delighted to know that not much has changed for 2019, with Nike instead deciding to make small design tweaks including a revamped Swoosh logo and a new gradient fade addition to the midsole.

As for colorways, the Epic React Flyknit 2 will drop in two styles this January including the light grey "Pixel," which is a Nike member exclusive releasing Jan. 17, and the black "8-Bit" variation which will see a wider launch from nike.com and select Nike Running retailers on Jan 31.
