Name: Christine Shearman
Age: 49
From: Merrimack, N.H.

On April 18, 2022, I will be running the 126th Boston Marathon for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge. I’m running and raising funds to honor my niece, Layla, a brave, creative, and beautiful girl who is being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, or ALL.

It’s thanks to the research done by places like the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at DFCI that Layla and so many others have an increased probability for recovery. It’s an honor, a responsibility, and a huge gift for me to run Boston and raise funds for this amazing charity.
