We have plenty of summer weather left. We are also going to start to get small tastes of autumn.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning will have a solid feel of early fall across all of Michigan.
Thursday morning will have heat hanging on in the Detroit metro area. Otherwise temperatures will have a feel of fall in the 50s and even 40s in northern Michigan.
Look at the afternoon temperatures expected Thursday. The cool air will have arrived in Michigan. It will be a very comfortable day.
Friday morning will be another cool morning.
Friday the coolest weather should have finally pushed into southeast Lower, giving Ann Arbor and Detroit the first fall feeling afternoon of the coming season.
When we want to know if it’s truly a comfortable day, meteorologists look at the afternoon high temperature and the dew point. If temperatures are around 70 degrees and dew point temperatures are in the 40s, you have yourself an early fall day.
The dew point temperature forecast in the heat of Saturday afternoon says it will be a dry warmth. Saturday will be the third day in a row that says fall is just around the corner.
In all my years here in Michigan, the majority of folks say fall is their favorite season, even if some of those people don’t like the following season.
