Toward the end of March, T.J. Maxx closed its stores because of the coronavirus pandemic. While other retailers kept their online businesses, running rare sales, T.J. Maxx shut down its site. Now, as states start to reopen, the discount retailer is beginning to gradually reopen its physical stores. But if your local store hasn't reopened or you don't want to shop IRL, you can still score scented candles and cute throw pillows at affordable price points because T.J. Maxx's online site is officially open again.
If you're planning on shopping online, you'll want to act fast, because the site is capping its daily orders. Though you won't be able to buy anything once the site hits its limit for the day, you'll still be able to browse the online store, which has a ton of discounted home items. And with summer just around the corner, the site has everything your home might need for the new season, from planters to outdoor seat cushions to ceramic garden stools.
Need to return something that you bought before the store and site closures? You're in luck. After it temporarily shut down its operations, T.J. Maxx announced that it would extend its return policy. Customers can make in-store returns within 30 days of stores reopening and online returns within 40 days of its site reopening.
According to its website, the T.J. Maxx physical stores that are reopening will have temporary store hours of Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some stores will have hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays just for seniors 60 years and older and those who are at higher risk of getting COVID-19. To help with social distancing, some stores will limit the number of shoppers allowed at one time. While the retailer doesn't have a list of which stores are reopening, you can check if your local store is open here.
