Let’s taco bout the latest festival being offered at SteelStacks this year.
The inaugural TacoFest, celebrating the myriad of combinations between flour or corn tortillas, is scheduled for June 9.
The free event will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, where visitors can buy tacos from several food trucks along First Street. Drinks for purchase will include margaritas, mojitos and various Mexican beers, and live music will include bands Zaire, Flowers for Taco and Jimmy the Whale.
Confirmed vendors include: Clubhouse Grille, Take a Taco, Fud Truck and Grumpy’s BBQ Roadhouse.
Two special VIP sessions will be ticket-only, and will have margaritas and unlimited steak, fish and vegan tacos. The sessions will run 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will include Urbano, Mixology Masters and Copperhead Grill.
Ticket holders will be able to vote on their favorite drink.
Tickets are $45 each through May 26, and will increase to $49.99 per person May 27-June 8 and $59.99 the day of the festival. They can be purchased at steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
If one day of tacos isn’t enough, there are plenty of taco festivals to enjoy this year.
Easton’s Cinco de Mayo Taco Fest is scheduled for May 4 in the city’s Downtown.
Berks County is offering its inaugural Taco Fest on May 18 in Reading. Pittsburgh is celebrating its third annual Taco Festival on June 1, followed by the 3rd annual Philadelphia Taco Festival June 29.
In the fall is the NJ Taco Festival, scheduled Sept. 7 in Sussex County.
