A TikTok influencer is going viral after sharing the hilarious moment her boyfriend mistook her pregnancy test for a positive COVID diagnosis. A video detailing the uproarious gaffe currently boasts nearly 25 million views on TikTok.
“Here’s how telling my boyfriend I’m pregnant went,” read the caption to the clip, which was uploaded Tuesday by Tokfluencer Hannah Alexis Grace.
The clip then cuts to screenshots of a text conversation in which the expectant mother tells her beau, Charlie, that she knows “why I feel ill,” and sends him a picture of her positive pregnancy test.
His reply: “Are you joking me?”
“No I’m not,” responds Grace. “I’m literally shaking.”
After rattling off a stream of profanities, Charlie asks his soulmate if she’s told anyone, upon which she names two of her gal pals.
The future mother was initially flummoxed over her other half’s seemingly horrified reaction to the good news. However, the oblivious father-to-be then tells Grace not to panic and they’re “both gonna have to isolate for ten days,” suggesting that he believed she was positive for COVID-19. Charlie even hilariously asked if his paramour’s mother was “positive” as well.
Fortunately, Grace was able to clear up the misunderstanding, whereupon her boyfriend typed “omg” — an appropriate reaction to finding out he’s going to be a dad.
Their coronavirus comedy of errors had TikTok users in stitches.
“Not him thinking it’s a COVID test,” mused one commenter, while another wrote, “Charlie passed out after the ‘omg.'”
“10 days isolation ?? Try 18 years,” joked one TikTok comedian.
Buffalo Wild Wings’ official account seconded their sentiment, quipping, “You got a lot more than 10 days dude.”
However, others wondered why Grace would relay such earth-shattering news via text message.
“Why would you text something like that,” said one incredulous commenter, while another wrote, “Not only did you tell the man’s over text, but you told two other people before him.”
However, Grace dismissed the critics, writing in the comments, “I am carrying and growing this baby for 9 months, I will tell him how I want.”
“If it was different circumstances that would have been told face to face,” she added. “It was something that was completely unexpected and scary, so I text him.”
Another TikTok fan defended her methods, writing: “What’s wrong with people? If someone decides to tell someone she’s pregnant over text, why do y’all care? congratulations to you both!”
The proud gal has since shared a follow-up vid showing her celebrating with Charlie, as well as an ultrasound of her baby in the womb.
