The change of the Vacaville City Council is like a horse race at the Kentucky Derby. Suddenly the race is on and out of the dust from behind comes an experienced jockey and horse that puts all the negative publicity aside and wins the race on knowledge and honesty alone.
That human being, my citizens with pride from two Air Force veterans, is Ron Rowlett. We’ve witnessed him helping the elderly along with his carpenters put safety showers and silver handles on doors etc. for free.
He fights for rights for people with breast cancer and male cancers.
Recently, when an incident happened a Travis Air Force Base out of our jurisdiction, he helped a Vacaville resident by contacting the Travis Wing Chaplain who graciously paved through red tape and helped with compassion. When a family suddenly found a building being built inches from their fence line on a Sunday morning, he bolted out of a restaurant with his mom and had the company move it many feet, and later kept checking the scene.
He is a very quiet, decent man that is filled with knowledge and compassion, and is not afraid to act immediately and right a wrong. What a blessing to have Ron Rowlett as our mayor along with his compassionate wife, mom and son.
P.S. He is extremely alert to keeping Travis AFB active with world missions, cargo airplanes and jets to protect our world and keep our air base and runways safe from enemy or having to close.
Therefore, he knows the need to keep in touch with Washington D.C. and those in command at Travis AFB.
