Kids Get Free Admission To 40 San Diego Museums In October

SAN DIEGO — The "Kids Free in October" program returns this year with 40 museums and other attractions in San Diego County offering free admission to children for the entire month.

Now in its ninth year, the program gives families an opportunity to explore the dozens of cultural institutions that make up San Diego's museum scene. More than 15,000 children attended museums, zoo and aquariums, gardens and historic sites during last year's monthlong program, according to the San Diego Museum Council, which hosts Kids Free in October.

"There's no better time to be a kid in San Diego than in the month of October," San Diego Museum Council Executive Director Nicole Miller-Coleman said.

"We know that museum experiences can be incredibly powerful for kids. Now, families can check out a new destination or return to an old favorite, all while saving money in the process. We invite everyone to get out there and explore everything that San Diego's museum scene has to offer."

The offer is available for up to two child admission passes for each adult ticket purchased, according to the San Diego Museum Council. To participate, download the Kids Free in October coupon at sandiegomuseumcouncil.org and present the coupon at the participating museum's admissions desk.

Support for Kids Free in October is provided by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture, California Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and the County of San Diego.
