Lebanon Nursing Home Worker Tried To Suffocate Patient: Cops

Kareen McGregor allegedly poured water on the 88-year-old patient's head and placed clothing around her head and neck.

LEBANON, NH — A nursing assistant at the Lebanon Center was charged with pouring water over the head of an 88-year-old skilled nursing center patient and trying to suffocate her. Kareen McGregor, 50, of Lebanon, was arrested Saturday, police said on Tuesday.

McGregor assaulted the patient by pouring water on her and placing clothing around her head and neck "to impede her breathing," police said. It was unclear if the patient was harmed.

The center is operated by Genesis HealthCare, based near Philadelphia. A spokeswoman said McGregor no longer worked there. The Associated Press was unable to locate a phone number for McGregor.
