A Brooklyn federal judge denied a $5 million bail request by an alleged mafioso accused of orchestrating a hit on his father at a McDonald’s drive-thru in the Bronx.
The bail proposal, submitted by attorneys for Anthony Zottola Sr., upped the previously offered $1.5 million amount — but was denied by Judge Raymond Dearie on Tuesday.
Anthony will have to remain locked up until his trial.
“The charges and potential sanctions could not be more serious and disturbing and coupled with the statutory presumption compel the finding that Mr. Zottola is a flight risk and a danger to the community,” Dearie wrote in his decision.
Anthony, 41, has been charged with murder-for-hire conspiracy for his role in the death of his Bonanno-linked father, 71-year-old Sylvester “Sally Daz” Zottola in October 2018.
He’s accused of hiring a Bloods member to carry out the fatal shooting.
The defendant is also accused of trying to have his brother, Salvatore Zottola, killed outside his family’s Locust Point home — a botched hit prosecutors have said was intended to “lure out” the elder Zottola.
Like Zottola Sr.’s initial bail request, the revised proposal included home detention.
