FAIRFAX, VA — Fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles queued up on the streets and a helicopter flew over Inova Fairfax Hospital in a parade to honor health care staff on the front lines of the new coronavirus crisis Wednesday.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, Fairfax County Police, Virginia State Police, George Mason University Police and the FBI participated in the lineup as health care workers looked on outside the hospital. Health care staff and first responders alike held signs in support of their fellow essential workers. Numerous workers told NBC4 and WJLA they were thankful for the gesture.

Similar events to thank health care workers happened outside Inova Alexandria Hospital Tuesday and Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Monday.
