Everyone who books a luxurious getaway is looking for one thing: the ultimate pampering experience. From spa treatments and 3000% Egyptian cotton pillows to Aqua di Parma toiletries and a turn-down service that leaves a small chocolate on your pillow and fluffy slippers by the bed, you really can’t beat 5* hospitality.

But, then there are some hotels - those gems hidden in secluded spots around the world - that go above and beyond to give a whole new meaning to the word ‘luxury'.

From penthouse apartments and presidential suits to exclusive hilltop villas, here’s Elite Traveler's list of the 10 most expensive properties that need to be on your bucket list:

1

In the words of Will Smith: ‘Welcome to Miami.’

With panoramic views across the turquoise oceans that lap against Miami’s pearlescent white beaches, the penthouse suite at the Faena Hotel really is one of those dream holiday locations.

The website describe the suite as featuring ‘two levels of spacious gathering areas and dining rooms that are ideal for entertaining’, with five bedrooms (each with a balcony), a butler, kitchen, double sink vanities, and walk-in wardrobe.

And the cost? Well, a night will set you back a casual £38,000.

Perhaps it's time to get Will Smith on the dog and bone to ask for a favour?

3

Grand Riad, Hotel Mansour, Marrakech

Royal Mansour
.

When the website page for a suite like this is password protected, you know you’re in for a luxurious treat.

Sitting on the eastern edge of the medina in Marrakech, with roughly four hectares of garden, the four-bedroom Grand Riad has been stayed in by the likes of Moroccan royalty and has its own hammam and two pools, one on the roof, and a larger one at ground level, a billiard room and marble bathrooms.

Proudly displaying artwork from around the globe, it's no surprise to hear several rich guests regularly nab paintings put on display in this suite, as well as covet its old-school record player and diverse vinyl collection assembled from Big Apple cult shop, Academy Records.

But the cherry on top of that pie? Forbes reports Dior has teamed up with the hotel to provide a dedicated guest relations assistant who will kit out the bedroom-size closet with a hand-selected wardrobe and accessories from the current collection. Even better - Dior’s personal stylists, seamstresses and makeup artists are on call whenever you wish.
