ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Millions of people in California, and thousands in the East Bay, have filed jobless claims because of coronavirus business closures. For families with little or no savings, unemployment benefits and federal stimulus money isn't enough to pay for housing, food and utilities.

The first priority is to keep people fed.

Alameda County has just released an interactive map that allows residents to access food distribution sites and other services close to home. There are dozens of places ready to help.
